E911 Emergency Communications Center

The E911 Emergency Communications Center is the sole (PSAP) Public Safety Answering Point for all emergency communications in Tioga County.  The center is F.C.C. Phase 2 compliant, enabling reception of hard-line and wireless E911 calls which pin point caller locations within 300 meters.  The Center  operates in 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and performs  dispatching and communications for:
 Sheriff Patrols
 New York State Police
 Waverly Police Department
 Owego Police Department
 13 Emergency Squads/First Responder Agencies
 15 Fire Departments
 Tioga County Fire Investigation & Hazmat Teams
 Environmental Conservation Officers
 Medi-Vac Helicopter

The Center also monitors an alarm system for the Office of the Aging, Link-to-Life for elderly clients; a TTY (Text Telephone) for the hearing impaired.  Direct computer links are capable of communicating and exchanging information with the (DCJS) Division of Criminal Justice Services; New York State DMV; NCIC (National Crime Information Center); FBI, and the Office of Homeland Security.

The Division has received and currently maintains accreditation through the New York State Public Answering Point Accreditation Council.
