Local Background Checks
The Records Office will perform a check for arrests, convictions, citations, incarcerations, and any other contact which the Sheriff's Office may have had with the individual for whom the check is being made on. Before a check can be made, the requesting business, organization or individual must first submit a notarized Authorization for Release of Records. The original copy of the authorization can be mailed or hand delivered to the Sheriff's Office. The check will then be performed, and the results may be picked up at the Sheriff's Office, or mailed to the authorized parties.
There is no fee for this service. The completion time for conducting the check will vary depending upon existing workloads. However, every effort will be made to complete the check within a couple of business days.
Please note: Local background checks only verify records maintained by the Sheriff's Office, and will not include records which may be held by other agencies.
